How can I avoid repeating evidence I already have?
Credit and RPL follow different routes and need valid evidence.
What does this mean for your study?
Credit and recognition of prior learning are different routes. Credit concerns recognised prior units; RPL assesses whether your existing skills and knowledge meet current requirements. Neither follows automatically from years in a job.
What should you check next?
Collect transcripts, relevant work evidence and references for an initial discussion. Ask which route applies to each unit, what gaps remain and what the assessment costs. Keep confidential client information out of evidence unless an approved process permits its use.
What should you compare?
- Prior units
- work samples
- references
- gaps
What remains unconfirmed?
Assessor's recognition decision
What can you do next?
Ask for an evidence review early
