Compare current elective choices and keep prerequisites separate from the 18-unit package.
At least two electives must come from the listed bank. Up to one may be from that bank or another endorsed training package or accredited course when relevant to the work outcome. The RTO’s actual options may be narrower.
Which prerequisites need special attention?
CHCAGE008 Implement falls prevention strategies requires CHCAGE007. CHCPAL004 requires CHCPAL003, while the compulsory core lists CHCPAL001. Ask for an exact prerequisite decision rather than assuming similarly named units are interchangeable.
What options could you discuss?
- Home support: CHCCCS039 Coordinate and monitor home-based support.
- Leadership: BSBLDR411 Demonstrate leadership in the workplace or BSBLDR413 Lead effective workplace relationships.
- Mentoring: TAEDEL414 Mentor in the workplace.
- Cultural safety: CHCDIV002 Promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety.
- Quality: CHCMGT001 Develop, implement and review quality framework or BSBSTR402 Implement continuous improvement.
